Fire proof

Its extraordinarily difficult to see how wooden roofs or buildings can ever be made completely fire proof, indeed over a 500 to one thousand year life span, many cathedrals, churches and entire cities have burnt down and been rebuilt- mere risk probability, it becomes the roll of a dice...

fire proof glass might provide shielding as false ceilings to insulate and isolate future incidences in milenia of time if they ever occur, but asthetics, cost, weight, acoustics, feasibility all impact on such a theoretical design. glass might become decorative, religious and artistic, but air flow and circulation, damp etc also impact on such an idea as wood needs to be kept dry; but most of all, Traditional catherdal designs are breathtaking and awesome  and majestic and spiritually inspiring,   who would want to redesign such perfection unless it can bring us greater perfection... etched fire proof glass or glass that when illuminated from one side could reveal the stations of the cross or passages from the New Testament, and when illiminated from another side reveal the wooden intricately carved  ceilings... it takes an architect and engineer though to understand the feasibility and safety of fire proof glass ceilings perhaps  pyramidal like in assembly... one might imagine a glass ceiling floor for other inspiring views of the cathedral but it all depends on engineering, technology and art to pull it off... into great harmonious spiritual beauty....
