Settlement Status

Settlement status beta process worked very efficiently, one issue comes to mind, when people go to renew their passports in the eu, the linked settlement is not linked on the new passport so they might fail to get back in, unless its linked primarily on name and dob (and also passport number... ) so it might cause a big problem if not resolvable

Also if married to a uk citizen, wouldnt it be fair to allow a complete settled status so they can be abroad indefinitely and return, not just 2 years, else it a source of problems in marriage, and possible separation from children or partners. And shouldnt this status be afforded both ways to all members of a family so they are not in the future torn to pieces by brexit politics?ie a uk-eu married family can currently move freely within the eu, that will be cut down the middle by brexit. Affording full uk Citizenship rights might not address this fully, as some eu countries still dont allow dual citizenship, unless this has changed, and expecting some settled eu citizens to give up their homeland citizenship is a bit of an issue. Especially if they need to return with their spouse. Settled status with permanent citizen rights might bridge that.

The victims of brexit will soon be many. And what is the deal anyway.. a temporary arrangement of a transition into hard brexit.... after which banks leave? Manufacturing leaves?  New deals are needed besides whats on offer. That could include the US working closer with Europe. The massive unemployment job creation imbalances and the difference between free movement and mass migration needs mitigating and fixing and bingo were all happy. Its not the vast seemingly impossible conquest of deep Space nor designing a fusion reactor. Its just stubborn politicians, commissioners and a failed party. Change the music! Then we can be all happy! soundbite politics and the same old meaningles chat has failed us. Ego and stand offs. It will be like suez. Kind of. For both sides!!
